After the EUSA by-election earlier this month, we now have a full liberation team, so we figured it was time to introduce ourselves!
EUSA has four Liberation Groups: Black & Minority Ethnic (BME), Disability & Mental Wellbeing (DMW), LGBT+ & Women’s. The aim of these groups is to provide a space where self-identifying students from groups which have traditionally been marginalised in Higher Education or oppressed in wider society can come together, discuss the issues which affect them, & campaign to improve their student experience.
The groups are autonomous from EUSA, & each has a democratically elected Convener whose role it is to organise the group & liaise between students & EUSA. The Liberation Conveners for 2014-15 are:
- Women – Lucy Hook, firstname.lastname@example.org
- LGBT+ – Liam Vandewalle, email@example.com
- BME – Fatima Osman, firstname.lastname@example.org
- DMW – Hannah Baker-Millington, email@example.com
If you’d like to get involved in any of the groups then just get in touch!
